About us
Born from a simple, urgent question: why are open beds sitting empty?
Together As One exists to close the gap between Los Angeles' homelessness crisis and the shelter capacity that already exists — and to wrap our neighbors in the broader care they need: food, recovery, reentry, and elder support, every day of the year.
Mission
To create immediate life-saving housing opportunities for Angelenos facing chronic homelessness — providing housing today and building housing accessibility for tomorrow.
Shelter is our flagship — but our neighbors don't need housing alone. So we've grown our programs to include elder care, daily food services, a community food bank, recovery support, and reentry services for Angelenos returning from incarceration.

Our story
From observation to action.
Our founder spent years working in Los Angeles shelter development — and kept noticing the same pattern. Shelter providers would operate for short periods, then leave those shelter spaces vacant for most of the year.
Meanwhile, 46,000+ Angelenos remained chronically homeless. Half of the beds were laid bare throughout the year while people slept outside.
The challenges were systemic — not a capacity problem, but a coordination and operations problem. Through strategic partnership, Together As One was created to address those challenges head-on: keep the beds open, keep them filled, and treat every guest with dignity.
Why we're different
Focused, fast, and built on real infrastructure.
Strategic real estate partnership
Our real-estate partnerships let us transform properties around Los Angeles into shelter-ready spaces quickly and efficiently — bypassing the delays that keep beds offline.
Rooted in SPA 6
Every program we run lives inside Los Angeles Service Planning Area 6. We don't try to be everywhere — we try to be deeply present in the neighborhoods that need us most.
Fully-permitted facilities
Every location operates with a Certificate of Occupancy, fire clearance, and HVAC systems. We're proud of the legal and operational compliance that keeps our guests safe.
Dignity by design
Private bedrooms for families at our Vermont location. Dedicated family rooms. Handicap-accessible facilities. Thoughtful layouts that honor the people we serve.

Leadership
A board built for what comes next.
Together As One's operating team includes a C-suite (CEO, CFO, CDO, COO) and a dedicated operations team — intake, security, custodial, and social work. For our inaugural year, we are cultivating a board of working industry professionals to accelerate our growth: legal counsel, public policy, finance, development, and shelter operations.
